Writing challenge October

Do you know the book Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot? One poem was the inspiration behind the song Memory in the musical Cats. Andrew Lloyd Webber composed the music and Trevor Nunn wrote the lyrics. And I’ve always loved this song. To be honest, I’m not completely unbiased (we did the musical with my dance school and I’ve seen the real musical in NL).

Midnight not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory?
She is smiling alone
In the lamplight, the withered leaves collect at my feet
And the wind begins to moan

Just beau-ti-ful!

Anyway,  this gave me inspiration for another writing challenge.

Are you ready? Grab your pen and… go!

Use your favorite song as a setting for your next (short) story. Build a world around it, create (more) characters, and think of a new life to give to your song.
